Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. Matthew 28:19-20
A child of any member of the church as well as any adult member may be baptized at First Presbyterian Church. FPC baptizes by aspersion, aka “sprinkling” - placing a small amount of water on the head of the person to be baptized during a Sunday worship service. Prior to the baptism date, a pastor meets with the individual wishing to be baptized or the family of a child being baptized to discuss the meaning of baptism and the commitment being made. Please note: because we believe baptism is a public declaration of faith, FPC does not offer private baptism except in cases of critical illness.
