For the heart that is designed to worship in a traditional or conservative manner, there are two services available. The 8:30 a.m. in the Sanctuary and the 11:15 a.m. in the Great Hall. Diversity is offered through a selection of musical choices and pastoral leadership. Visitors will find the majority of our congregants dressed in conservative clothing—from nice slacks or collared shirts to skirts and dresses or coat and tie.
For those interested in a contemporary, blended or casual worship experience, please join us in the Sanctuary at 11:00 a.m. This service offers diversity through the use of praise music (shared by a worship band), interactive prayer and a more relaxed atmosphere. Visitors will find worshipers in a variety of dress styles that reflect an attitude of respect for our God and are not a distraction to others.
Several times a year, our two later services come together for worship in the Great Hall. This unified service blends elements from both traditional and contemporary worship styles and allows our congregation to worship together as a family.
Parking
Parking is available in an assortment of lots. Handicap parking and parking for the elderly is reserved in the main parking lot closest to the church.
Nursery
We have a simple goal: to provide a safe, secure, happy and loving environment for your child(ren). In doing so, we know that our caregivers are exhibiting the love of Jesus Christ to you and to your child(ren).
Children in Worship
It is important that children experience worship. Just as adults gain knowledge, sing hymns and praise the Lord, children learn from these experiences as well. The best way for children to learn how to worship is to be in worship!
Sunday Classes
On Sundays from 9:45 - 10:45 a.m., First Presbyterian Church gathers in smaller groups to study the Bible an to get to know some people in a similar stage of life. Classes are listed below by age group, but all classes are open to anyone. If you see a topic or teaching style of particular interest to you, join in regardless of how old you are!
Communion
Communion (which is sometimes called the Lord’s Supper, Holy Communion or the Eucharist) is a time to renew faith and strengthen participants for the duties and privileges of Christian service. In Communion, the bread and the wine represent the sacrifice of Christ in his death on the cross and recall the last meal shared with the Apostles. Together, they symbolize the new promise between God and all the people.
